For Portuguese nationals, a visa is not necessary for Brazil. You just need to take your passport, which must be valid for six months up to the end of the trip, as your flight ticket. You can check all the information at http://cglisboa.itamaraty.gov.br/pt-br

The weather is generally hot and humid; with basically only two seasons, summer is short and warm, and the winter is long warm and very rainy.Throughout the year, in general temperature goes from 24°C to 33°C. The hot season lasts for about 3 months, from 13 August to 1 November, with daily maximum temperatures above 33°C, and the hottest day of the year is September 22. The rainiest season lasts about 6 months, from 5 December 5 to June 8, when there is a high likelihood of daily tropical rains. The other 6 months are called "dry season".

Get ready to sweat a lot. The weather, in general, will be warm, so bring fresh, airy and comfortable clothes. At night, it might be windy and inside the forest it may be cooler, so we recommend that you take warmer clothes. For trails in the forest, we recommend long sleeves and trousers that protect most of the body, but that they are not too hot either. We recommend this to protect from possible insect bites. The probabilitiy of days with rain is great, but the general temperature always remains high. We also recommend that you pack waterproof material (backpacks, windbreaker).

In Manaus we have chosen a hotel, with the usual conveniences: bed and private bathroom in the center of a globalized city and close to its main points of interest. We will have access to all facilities and amenities (electricity, internet). In the communities we will stay in inns - buildings made of wood - and provide privacy, although there is the option to sleep in a hammock as the rest of the community does. Talk to us first, if it's in your best interest.

The program only includes the 14 days of travel, but if you arrive earlier or want to stay later, contact us. We can give you tips on what to do, where to go and speed up the process.

In Manaus, we have access to all kinds of restaurants: from local food options to international chains. In the communities we'll have local cuisine, the staple being fish caught in the River Negro accompanied by local vegetable varieties and indigenous fruits. These local recipes are made by community workers who have undergone training made available by NGOs in support of community economic sustainability actions.

In Manaus, the roaming service works perfectly. In the forest it is more intermittent, but in all the hosting sites will have access to WI-FI. It probably won't be as fast as we're used to, but if you think about the geographic context that we're in, it's incredible we have internet access at all. In the communities where we're going to visit, there's electricity 24 hours a day. Nevertheless, if we're on an outing or excursion, we're unlikely to have access to either one of them.

All transport along the route is covered by us. In Manaus it will be by van with space for all travelers. During the stay in the communities, the only means possible transport is by boat: a metal motorboat.

We recommend all travelers reserve the Traveler Consultation for medical advice before traveling to a tropical country. Here you will be advised according to the destination, so that you know the vaccination plan appropriate (if necessary) and what precautions to take before and after the journey.

No. The meeting point for our trips is always at the destination. So, you have the flexibility to choose the dates and times that best suit you.
